SAVANNAH - Judge Reginald Moore McDuffee, 78, died peacefully Saturday, November 13, at home under the care of Hospice Savannah, after a long illness.
He was born August 12, 1932, in Savannah to the late Judge Reginald W. McDuffee and the late Sallie Moore McDuffee.

A 1950 graduate of Savannah High School, he attended The Citadel for three years prior to serving two years in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman. He graduated from the University of Georgia and received his J.D. degree from the UGA Law School.

Judge McDuffee practiced law in Savannah from 1959 until 1984, when he was elected Judge of the Probate Court of Chatham County, where he served until retirement in 1995. He was a member and Past Master of Landrum Lodge #48, and a lifetime, active member of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class.

Reg was a quiet, thoughtful person with a wry wit. He enjoyed reading, music, having shown a renewed interest in piano lessons as an adult, as well as playing bridge, family camping and travel.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Annelle Dent McDuffee; son, Ken . and daughter-in-law Kim; daughter Cathy and son-in-law Ed Pulkinen, all of Savannah; daughter Barbara and son-in-law Juan Joy of Sequim, WA; one sister, Barbara Sue Ward of Midlothian, VA; eight grandchildren, Nicholas McDuffee, Allison Smith, Hannah Smith, Eli, Jacob and Sarah Pulkinen and Brittany and Kenneth Joy, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery.

The family suggest in lieu of flowers donations be made to Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church, 429 Abercorn St., Savannah, GA 31401 or to Hospice Savannah, Inc., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
